On this day in 1976, Lynyrd Skynyrd releases their fourth album ‘Gimme Back My Bullets’.  It followed ‘Nuthin’ Fancy’ and preceded ‘Street Survivors’, which was their last release before a fatal plane crash ends the original lineup.

Today in 1973, Keith Emerson injures his hands during an ELPshow in San Francisco when a rigged piano explosion goes off too soon, leaving him with minor cuts and a broken nail.

And finally, Happy Birthday to singer-songwriter Graham Nash of ‘The Hollies’ and also ‘Crosby, Stills and Nash’, who turns 81 today.
