Procol Harum recorded a live show with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra today in 1971. The opening number, “Conquistador,” became a hit single the following year.  

In 1974, Genesis released “The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway.” The ambitious 2- LP concept album would be their last with frontman Peter Gabriel.  

And finally, In 1972, Steely Dan entered the US singles chart for the first time with “Do It Again,” their first top ten hit.
