Today in 1962, The Rolling Stones recorded their first demos. The lineup featured Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Ian Stewart, and Tony Chapman. Drummer Charlie Watts would join a few months later.  

In 1975, Bruce Springsteen was riding high on the critical success of his latest album, “Born to Run,” appearing simultaneously on the covers of both Newsweek and Time.  

And in 1979 Led Zeppelin was #1 on the album charts for the seventh straight week with “In Through The Out Door.”
