Today in Rock History with Chris DeCarlo

The Beatles’ “Revolver” LP was released in America today in 1966, three songs shorter than the UK version. The other songs had come out a few weeks earlier on the US-only release, “Yesterday and Today.”

Why did the Beatles cross the road? Today in 1969, it was for the cover of Abbey Road. They spent about 10 minutes crossing the street, and got just six pictures.

Happy birthday to U2 guitarist Dave Evans, better known as The Edge, who turns 61 today.
