Today in 1971, George Harrison hosted “The Concerts for Bangladesh,” at New York’s Madison Square Garden. Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan and others joined him for two shows, with the recordings eventually raising 12 million dollars for charity.  

Happy Birthday #63 to Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott. He and the band were inducted in the rock and roll hall of fame in 2019.  

And born today in 1942, the late Jerry Garcia, guitarist, founder and leader of the Grateful Dead.
