On July 5th 1969, The Rolling Stones played their first show with guitarist Mick Taylor: a free concert in London’s Hyde Park before almost a quarter of a million fans.  

In 1966, Animals’ bassist Chas Chandler saw Jimi Hendrix play for the first time at The Cafe Wha?* in New York City. Chandler convinced Jimi to let him be his manager, and go with him to England.  

And Happy Birthday to Robbie Robertson, guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter with The Band, who turns 79 today.
