On this day in 1972 the Rolling Stones released “Exile on Main Street.” Considered one of their best, the double-LP contains classics like “Tumbling Dice” and “Happy.”  

In 1973, George Harrison released “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)” his second Number One single. The album, “Living in the Material World,” would also top the LP chart.  

And in 1977, the Eagles hit #1 on the US singles chart with Hotel California, their 4th single to reach the top spot.
