On this day in 1984 the Talking Heads movie “Stop Making Sense” premiered at the San Francisco International Film Festival. This movie became a critics’ favorite, and is hailed as one of the best concert films ever.
In 1961, Bob Dylan made his professional recording debut. He earned $50 for playing harmonica on Harry Belafonte’s version of “The Midnight Special.”
And in 1993, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Bryan Adams, Bruce Hornsby, and Ringo Starr were among the performers at Farm Aid 6 in Ames, Iowa.
