The first solo album from John Lennon came out today in 1968, titled “Two Virgins.” The music was bizarre and avant-garde, and the cover was a photo of the Lennons standing arm in arm, totally nude. As a result, it was sold in a plain brown wrapper.
Kansas earned a platinum album today in 1977 for “Point Of Know Return.” In addition to the title track, it featured one of their biggest songs, “Dust In The Wind.”
And George Harrison passed away today in 2001 after a long battle with lung cancer. The former ‘Quiet Beatle’ was 58.
