The Jimi Hendrix Experience played their first gig today in 1966, at a French club called The Novelty, only three weeks after Jimi arrived in Europe.  

Neil Young underwent emergency surgery on this day in 1975, the month before he released his album “Zuma.”  Young had to have nodes removed from his vocal chords.  

And happy birthday to Sammy Hagar. The former Van Halen singer and solo artist turns 74 today.
