Today in Rock History with Chris DeCarlo

October 3 |

Today in 1980, Bruce Springsteen began his 1980 U.S. tour in Ann Arbor, Michigan, but his opening-night butterflies showed when he forgot the words to his first song, “Born to Run.”

Also in 1980, The Police released their third LP, “Zenyatta Mondatta,” featuring the hits “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” and “De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da.”

And Birthday Greetings to former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, who’s 72.
