Fleetwood Mac made Rock History on this day in 1977, when their “Rumours” LP hit 19 weeks at #1. It was only the fifth time an album had reached that milestone.
The Doors made their only appearance on “The Ed Sullivan Show” today in 1967. They were asked to change the “Light My Fire” lyric “Girl we couldn’t get much higher,” but Jim Morrison sang it anyway. They were banned by Ed and never returned.
And today in 1978, Queen rented Wimbledon Stadium to make their video for Bicycle Race. It featured 65 professional models racing on bikes…naked.
