On July 14, 1967, the Who began their first cross-country tour of the U.S.A. But they weren’t the headliners, they played 55 gigs as the opening band for Herman’s Hermits.
Today in 1982, the film version of “Pink Floyd’s The Wall,” had its London premiere. Boomtown Rats front man Bob Geldof starred in the title role as “Pink.”
And today in 1987, Steve Miller of the Steve Miller Band got his very own star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
