Today in 1982, Rod Stewart was robbed in broad daylight. A gunman held up Rod and his 3-year-old daughter in Hollywood, and made off with, among other things, his $50,000 Porsche.
Ringo Starr had his own TV special on this day in 1978, titled “Ringo,” playing both title roles in an updated version of “The Prince and the Pauper.” George Harrison provided the narration.
And on this day in 1969, Led Zeppelin played the second of two nights at The Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco on their second North American tour. It was the first time they played ‘Whole Lotta Love’ in concert.
