Happy Birthday to a couple of guitar players (who are also in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame): Steve Howe of Yes who’s 74, and Izzy Stradlin of Guns N Roses, who’s 59.
A half million people attended the Woodstock festival in August,1969. But millions more were taken there via the big screen, thanks to “Woodstock, The Movie,” which premiered in London on this day in 1970.
In 1994, singer/guitarist Kurt Cobain of Nirvana was was found dead in his Seattle home of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was 27 years old.
