Happy Birthday Roger Hodgson, former guitarist, vocalist, and keyboardist of Supertramp who turns 71 today!
He’d already won several Grammy Awards, but on this day in 1994, Bruce Springsteen picked up his first Oscar, for “Streets of Philadelphia.” Springsteen would also win a Grammy for the song.
In 1969, John and Yoko began the first of two “Bed-Ins” for peace at the Amsterdam Hilton Hotel for their honeymoon. They thought it was an ideal way to spread their message of peace since reporters would be following them anyway.
