December 18

Happy birthday to the immortal Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, who turns 77 today.

On this day in 1975 Rod Stewart officially quit the Faces, a group he sang with for six years. Rod was already well known as a solo artist, and had scored a #1 hit with “Maggie May” in 1971.

The Beatles entered the Hot 100, again, on this day in 1965 with both sides of their latest single, “We Can Work It Out” and “Day Tripper.” The former was on the charts for 12 weeks making it to Number One, while the latter only made it up to number five.
