Cream started the era of the supergroup when they released their debut album, “Fresh Cream,” today in 1966. Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce provided the blueprint for every power trio that came after.
The Moody Blues had the #1 album on the charts on this day in 1972 with “Seventh Sojourn” It featured the hit track “I’m Just A Singer (In a Rock ‘n’ Roll Band).”
And today in 1992, bassist Bill Wyman quit the Rolling Stones after thirty years with the group.
