The opening of Works by Ginny Avnaim opened at the Ocala Recreation and Parks Administration, located at 828 NE Eighth Ave., and the Eighth Avenue Adult Activity Center, located at 830 NE Eighth Ave., in January. The free exhibit will be on display through March 18, Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm. This exhibit is free and open to the public. Due to COVID-19 precautionary measures there will be no opening reception.

Ginny Avnaim, from Ocklawaha, Florida, is a mixed media self-taught textile artist who focuses on creating hand-embellished fabric designs. She has always been fascinated by hand sewing, enjoying the process and time invested in the craft. After years of quilting, she developed her own application of fabric design. Throughout the process of experimenting with this new-found love for embellishing, she created pieces to fill her home, surrounding herself in her practice. She enjoys the energetic quality of these designs, enjoying a positive impact on the viewer.
