On this day in 1992, Wayne’s World, the motion picture starring former SNL comedians Mike Myers, and Dana Carvey, opens in theaters across the U.S. the soundtrack includes cuts from Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix while the use of Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ in the film propelled the song to no.2 on the US singles charts nearly 20 years after its first release.
Today in 1987 Bon Jovi started a four-week run at no.1 on the U.S. singles chart with ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’, the group’s second no.1 single.
And on Valentines’ Day in 1970, The Who played Leeds University in England, a show they recorded and released as “Live at Leeds” and regarded as one of the best live rock recordings of all time.
