On this day in 1988, the surviving members of The Who reunite for their 25th anniversary at the televised British Phonographic Industry awards in London, leading to a full-fledged 25th anniversary tour the next year.

Today in 1969, Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, and Steve Winwood announce they are forming a new band.   The ensemble becomes ‘Blind Faith’, but split after a few months, producing only one album and a three-month long summer tour.

Finally, happy birthday to Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil, who turns 62 today.
