In 1975, Queen started a nine week stay at the top of the UK chart with “Bohemian Rhapsody.” The band’s refusal to edit the song, like the label wanted, turned out to be a good decision.

Today in 1974, the Rolling Stones topped the album charts with “It’s Only Rock And Roll,” their last record with guitarist Mick Taylor. His replacement, Ron Wood, plays acoustic on the title track.

And today in 1979, Pink Floyd released their single for “Another Brick In The Wall, Pt 2.” It would go on to be a worldwide #1.
