On this day in 1978, with a budget of only approximately $3000 borrowed from Stewart Copeland’s brother Miles, the Police started recording their debut album ‘Outlandos d’Amour’ featuring the hits ‘So Lonely’, ‘Roxanne’ and ‘Can’t Stand Losing You’.  

Eric Clapton’s star-studded “Rainbow Concert” was held today in 1973 at London’s Rainbow Theater.  Pete Townshend organized the concert with friends Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Ronnie Wood and others to help Clapton overcome some personal problems and return to the stage.  

And today in 1967, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr both went to the Bag oO’Nails club in London, England to see the Jimi Hendrix Experience
