Today in 1975, Queen had a number one album for the first time, when “A Night at the Opera” started a two week stay at the #1 spot in Britain.
A couple more #1’s to note: On this day in 1980 John Lennon’s single “Starting Over” was #1 in both America and Britain, while in 1969 the “Led Zeppelin II” album was leading the American charts.
And Happy Birthday to the guitarist, songwriter and bandleader of Foreigner, Mick Jones, who’s 78 today.
