Today in 1973, The Who’s Keith Moon passed out near the end of the show at San Francisco’s Cow Palace. Pete Townshend asked the crowd if anyone could play the drums, and a 19-year old named Scot Halpin, got to play the final three numbers.
In 1961, Bob Dylan recorded over half of his debut album at Columbia Recording Studios in New York City, including his version of “House Of The Rising Sun.”
And in 2003, George Harrison, Bob Seger, Traffic, ZZ Top, and Jackson Browne were among the latest inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
