“Floyd Feud” officially went public when Pink Floyd announced they were going to continue without Roger Waters on this day in 1986. Waters sued the others to stop them from using the name, but later admitted he regretted taking legal action.
In 1997, Led Zeppelin opened their vaults for “BBC Sessions,” a collection of previously unreleased live recordings.
Tragedy struck in 1972, as Allman Brothers Band founding bassist Berry Oakley was killed in a motorcycle accident in Macon, Georgia, just three blocks away from where guitarist Duane Allman lost his life in a similar crash the year before.
