Just weeks after Bob Dylan arrived in New York City, he got his first break. He made his New York debut at the Gaslight Café in Greenwich Village on September 6th, 1961. It would become one of his regular venues.  

In 1968, The Beatles had a guest in the studio—George Harrison’s friend Eric Clapton dropped by to add his part to “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” George also recorded his lead vocal during the session.  

And ex-Pink Floyd songwriter, bassist, and co-founder Roger Waters is 79 today.
