 In 1985, Michael Jackson outbid Paul McCartney for the rights to the Beatles’ catalog. He paid 47.5 million dollars for more than 250 Lennon-McCartney compositions.  

And birthday greetings to David Crosby, of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. The singer, songwriter, and co-founder of the Byrds turns 81 today.
