November 6

Today in 1970, Aerosmith played their first gig: a high school in Mendon, Massachusetts.

Promoter Bill Graham produced his first rock concert on this day in 1965, a benefit at the Fillmore Auditorium with The Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane. He rented the venue for $60. Not long after, he’d be the owner, and a pivotal part of the San Francisco music scene.

And the late Glenn Frey, singer, songwriter and co-founder of the Eagles, was born today in 1948 in Detroit, Michigan.
