Today in 1965, Bob Dylan made his ‘electric debut,’ at the Newport Folk Festival, playing a Fender Stratocaster instead of an acoustic. A small but vocal minority of folk purists made Dylan cut the set short after three songs.
In 1969, Crosby, Stills and Nash invited Neil Young on stage at San Francisco’s Fillmore Auditorium. He would join the band just before Woodstock a few weeks later.
