Today in Rock History with Chris DeCarlo

June 25 |

In 1967 an historic moment in both broadcasting and recording took place, when the Beatles performed “All You Need Is Love” live during a worldwide TV broadcast seen by over 200 million people.

Also in 1967, The Jimi Hendrix Experience gave a free afternoon concert in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. They also played another two shows that evening at the Fillmore West.

And in 1993, Bruce Springsteen was a surprise guest on David Letterman’s final show as host of “Late Night” on NBC, performing “Glory Days.”
