Today in 1973, Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham celebrated his 25th birthday at the Los Angeles Forum. During their show, Robert Plant led the audience in singing “Happy Birthday.”

The Who made it into the Guinness Book of World Records on this day in 1976, for playing the world’s loudest rock concert. They set the record in London using a 76,000- watt P.A. system.

And in 1989, David Bowie’s short lived band Tin Machine made their live debut, playing the International Music Awards in New York City.
