Today in 1971, Jefferson Airplane’s Grace Slick wrecked her Mercedes near the Golden Gate Bridge. The band postponed recording its next album while she recovered.
On this day in 1969, The Beatles had a photo session to recreate the cover of their Please Please Me LP for “Get Back,” now with beards and long hair. The LP was never released, but the photos turned up on their “Red” and “Blue” album covers in 1973.
