Today in Rock History with Chris DeCarlo

October 29

King Crimson made their American concert debut on this day in 1969, at Goddard College, in Vermont. At the time, Greg Lake was their singer, and their debut album, “In The Court Of The Crimson King,” had only been out for three weeks.

The late Peter Green, singer, guitarist and founder of Fleetwood Mac, would have been 74 today. Green passed away back in July of this year.

And Allman Brothers Band founder and virtuoso guitarist Duane Allman was tragically killed in a motorcycle crash in Macon, Georgia, on this day in 1971, just three weeks shy of his 25th birthday.
