Today in Rock History with Chris DeCarlo

May 2 |

Today in 1979, the Who performed their first concert with their new drummer, Kenney Jones, the replacement for the late Keith Moon. Kenney had known the band since their early days when he was with the Small Faces.

In 1972, Bruce Springsteen auditioned for CBS Records A&R man John Hammond in New York. Hammond was so impressed, he arranged a full audition that night at the Gaslight Club in New York for other label executives.

And Happy birthday to Lou Gramm, the original vocalist of Foreigner who’s 72 years old.
