In 1978 the movie “FM” premiered. It was a box office flop, but the soundtrack was a best-seller, featuring cuts from Tom Petty, Bob Seger, the Eagles, and more, as well as the theme song from Steely Dan.
On this day in 1999, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers received their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
And in 1973, Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” went to No.1 in the US. The album went on to enjoy a record-breaking 741 straight weeks on the Billboard chart.
