On this day in 1973, the Rolling Stones released the single, “Angie.” It would go to #1 on the charts, and lead to rumors it was about an affair with David Bowie’s first wife, Angie Barnet. Keith Richards has since denied it.  

The first ‘Us’ Festival began on this day in 1982. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak sponsored the three-day event, featuring headlining sets by The Police, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Fleetwood Mac.  

And hitting #1 on the charts today in 1966, Donovan’s “Sunshine Superman.” Two Led Zeppelin members, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, were studio players hired for the session.
