A superstar collaboration between David Bowie and Queen was unveiled on this day in 1981, when they released the single, “Under Pressure.”
In 1974, the Rolling Stones released “It’s Only Rock & Roll,” their last album with lead guitarist Mick Taylor. Both the title track and their Temptations cover, “Ain’t To Proud To Beg” were hit singles.
Paul Kantner of Jefferson Starship suffered a severe brain hemorrhage on this day in 1980, spending fifteen days in an L.A. hospital. The band was in the middle of recording their “Modern Times” LP at the time.
