Today in 2008, the state of Illinois held the first Cheap Trick Day. The previous June, the state legislature declared that every April 1st would celebrate the band, who formed in Rockford in 1974.

And in 1980, AC/DC announced their replacement for the late Bon Scott. He was Brian Johnson, the former lead singer of British band Geordie.
