Paul McCartney made the Guinness Book Of World Records today in 1979. They awarded Paul a rhodium-plated disc for being the bestselling songwriter and recording artist of all time. (If you’re wondering, rhodium is more valuable than platinum.)

In 1989, John Fogerty got sued for sounding like…John Fogerty. Saul Zaentz, the owner of the rights to CCR’s music, said “The Old Man Down The Road” was plagiarized from Creedence’s “Run Through The Jungle.” Fogerty eventually won the case.

And today is birthday number 84 for bassist Bill Wyman, formerly of the Rolling Stones.
