In 1981, Eric Clapton was hospitalized in St. Paul, Minnesota, for ulcers. He’d be in the hospital for over 4 weeks, forcing him to cancel the rest of his U.S. tour.

In 1970, the song “Instant Karma!” which John Lennon wrote and recorded in just one day, hit #1 on the charts.

And on this day in 1992, about 40,000 people attended Farm Aid Five in Irving, Texas. The show was hosted by Willie Nelson and featured Neil Young, John Mellencamp, and many more.
