The Fillmore East opened on this day in 1968, promoter Bill Graham’s New York version of San Francisco’s Fillmore West. Meanwhile, at the Winterland, Cream was playing the first of several nights, some of which became their “Wheels of Fire” album.
In 1974, Bad Company played live for the very first time when Paul Rodgers, Simon Kirke, Boz Burrell* and Mick Ralphs performed at Newcastle City Hall in England.
And celebrating a birthday today, founding bassist for Poco and The Eagles, Randy Meisner who turns 76.
