Today in Rock History with Chris DeCarlo

January 22 |

Happy birthday to former Journey lead singer and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Steve Perry. He’s 73.

Steve Winwood had his first hit record on this day in 1966 when the single “Keep on Runnin’,” by the Spencer Davis Group hit #1 on the British charts. He was just 17 years old at the time.

In 1977, Paul McCartney’s first live album, “Wings Over America,” hit #1 on the US Charts. It was his 6th number one album after leaving the Beatles.
