Today in 1957, Paul McCartney made his live debut with John Lennon’s band, the Quarrymen at a small hall in Liverpool. It was the first time the two played on stage together.  

Rod Stewart joined the Small Faces today in 1969, replacing vocalist Steve Marriott.  Marriott went on to form Humble Pie with Peter Frampton.  

And Rock and Roll’s first guitar hero, the legendary Chuck Berry, was born today in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1926.
