Today in 1973, Bruce Springsteen released his debut album, “Greetings From Asbury Park, New Jersey.” It wasn’t a hit, but it caught the attention of the music press right away. It also had “Blinded By The Light,” which Manfred Mann’s Earth Band would take to #1 three years later.  

In 1969, Led Zeppelin played the last of four nights at the LA club, the Whisky A Go-Go, with Alice Cooper as the opening act.  

And the brand new concept of FM radio was first demonstrated on this day back in 1940.
