Today in 1968, authorities at Newark Airport in New Jersey confiscated 30,000 copies of the first John Lennon-Yoko Ono album, “Two Virgins.” The cover was a photo of the couple totally nude. It would eventually be sold in a plain brown wrapper.
Today in 1969, The Beatles began filming their rehearsals at Twickenham Studios for the “Get Back” project, eventually released as “Let It Be.”
And on this day in 1975, the Allman Brothers Band was honored by the Georgia State Department of Corrections as the “Outstanding Community Organization of the Year.”
