Today in Rock History with Chris DeCarlo

December 27 |

Happy Birthday to the guitarist, songwriter and bandleader of Foreigner, Mick Jones, who’s 77 today.

Today in 1975, Queen had a number one album for the first time, when “A Night at the Opera” started a two week stay at the #1 spot in Britain.

A couple more #1’s to note: On this day in 1980 John Lennon’s single “Starting Over” was #1 in both America and Britain, while in 1969 the “Led Zeppelin II” album was leading the American charts.
