Celebrating birthdays today are bassist Roger Glover of Deep Purple who’s 76, and Billy Idol, who turns 66  

On this day in 1977, David Bowie appeared on the final Bing Crosby Christmas Special, singing a duet of “The Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth.”  

On this day in 1979, Pink Floyd’s, “The Wall” was released. The double album rock opera contains the tracks “Run Like Hell,” “Hey You,” “Comfortably Numb,” and many other classics.
