Fleetwood Mac’s third hit single, “Oh, Well,” peaked on the British pop charts on this day in 1969. Both Mick Fleetwood and John McVie bet bandleader Peter Green that the odd song would never make it onto the charts.  

In 1979, Chuck Berry was released prison after serving two and a half months for tax evasion. The IRS arrested him just days before he was supposed to play for President Jimmy Carter at the White House.  

And in 1976, Van Morrison’s album Moondance went gold. It took it’s time—it was originally released six years earlier in 1970.
