On this day in 1979, The Eagles started a 9 week run at #1 on the Album charts with “The Long Run,” featuring the hit “Heartache Tonight.”  

On this day in 1977, Elton John said he was retiring from live performance. He’d change his mind by 1979. His current “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” has dates scheduled through 2023.  

And on this day in 1967, the British Blues band known as “Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac” released their first single, a cover of Robert Johnson’s “I Believe My Time Ain’t Long.”
